Collins inspires Burgh to road victory
DRUMCHAPEL - 1 JOHNSTONE BURGH - 3 to be being discussed by the West of Scotland League board.
McKim said: “As a club we’re staying in the league for this season because we want to play competitive football.
“It’s important for the players, the board, the fans, everyone involved with Burgh.
“We’ll need to fundraise without the supporters being allowed in but for us everyone needs football at this club.
“We need to see what the leagues do next in terms of what happens with promotion and relegation.
“I totally agree with not punishing teams that don’t want to participate this season, but for me there needs to be promotion for sporting integrity.
“I’m not saying we’re definitely going to get promoted, but teams need that incentive. Hopefully a comprimise can be found to get the leagues started on October 24 as planned.”
McKim is desperate to get his side back into competitive action as soon as possible, particularly having looked so strong in preseason so far.
He added: “The guys have looked terrific so far and they’re all showing me they really want to be in the starting XI.
“The competition for places at the moment is so strong and, even though that makes it difficult for me to pick a side, they’re all driving each other on.
“We’ve got another game against Largs on Wednesday night, before facing Greenock Juniors on Friday night.
“Hopefully after that we’ll have a first competitive fixture to look forward to the following Saturday!”
