Ex told to stay away for a year
An estranged boyfriend who sparked mayhem at his ex-partner’s home has been fined and banned from going near her for a year.
Scott Jardine, 22, lost the plot when his ex Louise Deans gave him an earful after he showed up uninvited at her home in Paisley’s Mossvale Street.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard Jardine urged her to open the door, even posting his mobile phone through her letter box so they could talk, but he flipped out and booted her door repeatedly, when she told him to “f*** off”.
Procurator fiscal depute Maureen McGovern said Jardine and Ms Deans had been in a relationship, but it was finished when he turned up at her door at around 10.50am on Sunday, October 4.
She said: “The complainer was at her home address when she received a call from an unknown number. She had previously blocked the accused.
“She answered and it was Jardine, who said, ‘ Louise, can I come and see you again?’
“She was blunt with him. She told him not to phone again.
“She received a further call, again from the accused, who said he wished to return an item of clothing to her.
“She told him, ‘Just keep it.’” Jardine then turned up at her door a few minutes later, where Ms Deans told him to “f*** off,” and “I don’t care for you”.
The prosecutor added: “He continued to knock at the door. She said she was contacting police. He posted his mobile phone through the letter box, which she returned.
“She, again, asked him to leave when he began kicking her front door, two or three times. This caused damage to the door’s trim.”
In court on Thursday, Jardine, of Quarry Street, Johnstone, pleaded guilty to behaving in threatening abusive manner in that he went to the home uninvited and repeatedly kicked the door, causing damage.
Defence agent Terry Gallanagh said his client was simply returning clothing to her when she told him to “f*** off,” and he “kicked off at being verbally abused”.
He added their relationship is “definitely over”.
Sheriff Seith Ireland fined Jardine £ 160 and placed him on a non- harassment order lasting 12 months which prevents him from approaching or contacting his ex.
