Andrew is new youth boss
A businessman has been appointed to head up the Young Enterprise Scotland team in the Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.
As chair of the volunteer group, Andrew Loughlin will coordinate efforts to introduce more schools and students to entrepreneurial skills development through the Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) Company Programme.
With his team of business advisers, as well as fundraising and organising events, the role includes working directly with senior school students who set up their own commercial ventures as part of the company programme.
Last year, the Renfrewshire area team helped to inspire over 200 students and supported 21 YES companies to go through the company programme.
As the founding director of management consultancy 360 Bid – Work Winning Consultants, Andrew brings vast experience of mentoring businesses in a competitive marketplace and is ideally placed to support enterprising young students setting out in the world of work.
Andrew replaces Bob Davidson who has held the position of chair of YES Renfrewshire since 2009.
He said: “I am delighted to take on the role for Young Enterprise Scotland.
“I believe wholeheartedly in encouraging and nurturing enterprise skills in young people through the Company Programme.
“By participating in the development of an ideal into an operational business, the students learn a great many practical skills and the overall experience sets them up for the world of business and work.”
