Paisley duo to join West of Scotland League

-

Football fans in Paisley have received a massive boost with the news the town will have two clubs competing in the West of Scotland Football League.

Having not had teams feature at that level, formerly known as the juniors, previously, the town will now have a pair to support in Glenvale FC and St Peter’s FC.

Both have seen their applications to join the West of Scotland (WoSFL) setup accepted, meaning they’ll compete alongside the likes of Arthurlie, Neilston, Renfrew and Johnstone Burgh when the new conference campaigns kick off in July.

Glenvale chairman Danny McKim said:“I would personally like to congratulate everyone involved at Glenvale for the fantastic achievement in being accepted into the West of Scotland Football League.

“It is 100 per cent down to the hard work of John Kelly and Mary Cummings, while being supported by the club committee.

“I would also like to thank David Rose and Davy Reid for their help to secure

Ferguslie Sports Centre as our home ground.”

A St Peter’s spokesman said:“To be part of the WoSFL fulfils our club’s ambition to have a senior side at the top of our player pathway. To achieve this is a massive step for our club and we look forward to getting started.”
