A successful return of the Spree
It’s been a fantastic Spree so far and for local venues Spree for All has been a huge success.
Paisley has been buzzing since it started last Thursday and hasn’t slowed down and there is more to come, starting with Hells Bells at The Bungalow tonight.
Hell’s Bells are in their 20th year of rocking out. They are the UK’s finest and most entertaining tribute to the great AC/DC.
Tickets are on the door for £12 and doors are at 7pm.
Baby Face and The Beltin Boys will be playing tomorrow from 2pm in place of The Byres Road Big Band, who had to pull out.
They are an authentic Americana, swing, rhythm and blues, country and much more. They played outside The Bungalow on Shuttle Street during the summer and attracted a lot of attention and this time they are on stage inside, which will make them sound even better.
Tomorrow night, The Beast Decoys play in Paisley for the first time. Beast Decoys are a Beastie Boys tribute act and are Europe’s number one tribute to Beastie Boys.
The Beast Decoys’ members all hail from Blackpool, and have over 20 years performance experience on the hip hop scene.
DJ Scott Rogan provides the platform for the performance and is a turntable veteran and hip hop purist. His knowledge has been key to keeping the performance on point and his attention to detail is the backbone to Beast Decoys’ stage show.
All three MCs are established recording artists in their own right and have shared the stage with the likes of DJ Premier, The Mouse Outfit, Jurassic 5 members Chali 2na and Akil, Rahzel, Skinnyman, Kalashnikiv, Ugly Duckling, Krafty Kuts, DJ Wood, DJ Format & Abdominal, Rodney P and Chuck Mosley from Faith No More, to name a few.
The Beastie Boys are, without doubt, one of the most inspirational hip hop acts of all time and it’s the Beast Decoys’ mission to bring the unforgettable energy of the Beastie Boys to the UK crowd for a full live experience. Doors are 7pm and tickets cost £10.
On The Beat – a youth music project from Loud n Proud – showcases young talent from 2pm on Sunday. It is free entry.
After the youngsters, Fred MacAulay and Bruce Morton – two of Scotland’s best know comedians – are on stage from 7pm and tickets are £10.
CC’s have Killer Instinct and support on tonight. It is a free gig and doors are at 7pm.
Drty Luv are at The Anchor on Sunday from 4pm.
You might recognise the name Sophie Davis from gigging at Fairfull’s Cafe during the summer and busking at The Cross. Tonight, she will be singing from 8.30pm at Zambretto and Rock Choir musical director Charlene Gordon starts from 8.30pm.
Dizzy Corner will be at Harvies from 9pm tomorrow night.
One of the most energetic and talented young bands around, The Best Bad Influence are at The Cave from 9pm.
Tomorrow, there is a double header starting with Drty Luv at 6pm, followed by The Black Triangles at 9pm.
The Jim Keilt Blues Jam Sessions are back on Sunday from 6pm.
Absolute Unit will be starting at 9.30pm tonight and going on till late at The Keg.
Warren Capaldi – the younger brother of the well known Scottish singer Lewis – will be playing at The Keg from 9.30pm.
The Swan has a live acoustic session from 5pm and tomorrow Blackout are playing in the shoppers’ slot from 4pm tomorrow, followed by Kirk Strachan at 8pm.
The Casual Swans will be back on Monday for some jamming and entertainment from 4pm.
The Paisley open mic sessions are: On Monday, Dunky Hunter will be the host at The Abbey from 8.30pm. On Tuesday, it is Stevie D at Gantry starting at 9pm. On Wednesday, it’s the Keg’s turn, with Johnny Barr from 8.30pm.
