Charity appealsfor resident artist
A community initiative is looking for an artist to join its team as part of an innovative projects
RIG Arts, which is based in Seedhill, announced a new opportunity for their EVOLVE project - an Artist in Residence.
The Artist in Residence position is intended to support the selected artist to explore narratives, histories or lived experiences of Black Communities and/or Communities of Colour in Seedhill, Paisley and offers a new way for the EVOLVE project to meet with a wide range of communities and individuals.
RIG Arts is a multi-award winning socially engaged charity that brings artists and the community together in a collaborative, creative way using art and film.
Based in Inverclyde, it delivers a programme of visual arts and film projects, workshops, exhibitions, public artworks, community spaces and events.
EVOLVE is a two-year project delivered in partnership with One Ren and Williamsburgh Housing Association, funded by Creative Scotland and part of the Culture Collective.
The new position is a six month opportunity which would see the successful candidate take part in a project which is part of a Scotland-wide network
Rebecca Livesey-Wright, project coordinator at RIG Arts, said: “We’re really excited to be offering this opportunity which will not only create a new job but provide a new and meaningful way for the EVOLVE project to engage with the communities of Seedhill.
“We’ve already made wonderful connections with so many people and are looking forward to building more relationships.”
