The Paisley Burgh Pool League continues at pace with table-toppers Lilybank and Pockets C going to battle on the baize.

After a close start, Davy McArthur kept Pockets in the game at 4-4 before Lilybank’s Craig Michael and Finlay Shand put their side in front. They never looked back, sealing an impressive 7-4 win.

Clippens A took on Killock B, with Louise Taylor and Dean Thornburn putting the visitors in front. Joe McCrystal started a comeback with Andy Harkins putting the hosts 5-3 ahead after the singles. Clippens held firm to seal a hard-fought 7-3 victory.

Hashtag A beat Patter 7-4, with the hosts taking a three-frame lead before the Patter battled back. Hashtag’s Gregor McVicar and Stevie McInnes made sure of the win in the 11th game of the night.

Pockets A’s game with Jaybees served up a treat, Jaybees took advantage of some mistakes to lead 3-0 but the home team started a comeback when John Mcintyre put a frame on the board, with the hosts eventually taking a 4-3 lead thanks to David Welsh.

Jaybees’ Darren Paterson won the eighth frame to make it all square, before the doubles games were shared until Jaybees went ahead 6-5. Stevie Smith Jnr and Stewart Geddes combined well for the A team to salvage a point both teams deserved.

Killoch A thumped Hashtag B 7-3, with the hosts taking an early lead they didn’t relinquish to seal a win that bumped them up the table.

Spateston Inn’s match with Horseshoe saw the away team seal a 7-3 victory. The visitors started strongly, taking a comfortable 6-2 lead. Spateston took the first doubles game, but Horseshoe’s perfect pair Graham Moffat and John Scott won the deciding frame.

St Peters crushed Clippens B 7-1 in an extremely one-sided affair. Gary Hill won the first frame and the Paisley side never looked back after that.

Sammi’s meeting with Pockets B produced a tight match eventually edged by Pockets. The visitors won the last two singles games to put them ahead by two going into the doubles. And Pockets held firm to make it two wins in three.

Red Fox took on the Hazel in Bishopton with the away team winning 7-4. Both teams started well but it was the Hazel who found themselves in front 4-1.

Hazel finished strongly, rattling off three frames to seal back-to-back wins.
