Renfrewshire residents are being encouraged to nominate individuals, groups, businesses and public figures who have supported LGBT+ equality in the community as the Proud Scotland Awards return later this year.
The Proud Scotland Awards celebrate the country’s LGBT+ communities and allies that work hard for LGBT+ equality and together do amazing things in every community in Scotland.
Public nominations across 18 categories are open for the awards on June 3 – which is now in its fifth year.
People are able to submit nominations at the awards website www. proudscotlandawards.com
Thousands of nominations have been submitted over the past few years to the independent judges.
Previous winners include comedian Janey Godley, Glasgow social worker James McLeod and singer Emeli Sande . Other winners are activist Luke McGregor, Professor Maggie Kinloch and Dr Michael Farquhar, Johanne Mundie from the Army, the only Dwarf Drag Queen in the UK Edinburgh’s Miss DQ and footballers Mark Hateley and Scott Brown.
