Caring duo honoured for service with Kibble

- CALAM PENGILLY

Two stalwarts of the care industry in Renfrewshire have been praised for their impressive half-acentury of service between them.

Paisley women Patricia Killoran, a learning and development advisor, and Kate Easdon, a domestic assistant, celebrated 25 years with Kibble – an organisation that focuses on trauma-informed care for young people.

Patricia started as a social work student and worked in residential children’s houses at Kibble’s Paisley campus for 13 years before transitioning across to the inhouse learning and development team.

She says that during her working life, the children she has cared for have taught her as much as she taught them.

“It’s been such an honour to work with young people and the team here for over 25 years,” she said.

“The work here at Kibble is so important.

“I saw the visible difference made to young people, which was one of the motivating factors that led me to move teams and provide training for other people keen to start their career in child and youth care.

“If we can futureproof our team with committed, passionate and caring people, we are futureproofing the care of young people for years to come.”

Kate Easdon started her role with Kibble in a bid to achieve a better work-life balance for her own family.

“My role gives me a chance to interact with a range of young people when they are on campus,” she said. some new cooking equipment for al fresco dining.

“I love getting to know young people, hearing their stories and offering them a listening ear.

“The team at Kibble works as just that – a team and I’m keen to highlight how important the support service staff are in the journey of all young people and the wider team in maintaining the services we offer across Kibble’s sites.”
