COLLECT DATA FROM SOCIAL MEDIA

6 applets

Keeping track of what people are saying about your company on social media can be difficult. Luckily, Microsoft Flow simplifies the process with a selection of handy tools that will alert you to mentions, store information, and provide a “troll warning”.

First, you can choose to be alerted via email when a specific user – be they an important client, firm or even a celebrity – sends a tweet ( pcpro.

link/273tweet). This applet is particularly useful for very active or popular Twitter profiles, saving you the hassle of wading through a long list of notifications or hashtags.

Looking for a more user-friendly way of storing and reusing your Instagram snaps? There’s a Flow to help ( pcpro.link/273insta): the template automatically saves an image to a specific Google Drive folder when you post it on Instagram, avoiding the need to laboriously re-upload it.

For a wider insight into how your product, service or campaign is being received on Twitter, use the “Log the latest tweets about your product in Excel” template ( pcpro.link/273latest). This records the tweet content, author, date sent and even the number of times it’s been retweeted in a spreadsheet. To get started, create an Excel file on your favoured cloud storage platform, follow the column instructions, set the keyword you wish to track, and watch the praise roll in. Similar tools exist for Facebook ( pcpro.link/273latest2) and Instagram ( pcpro.link/273latest3).

You can also be notified when someone is less than complimentary about a keyword – a kind of “troll klaxon”. The Flow ( pcpro.link/273troll), which uses the Cognitive Services Text Analytics API, will detect a negative comment, translate it if necessary, and send a push notification to your Android or iOS device with a link to the tweet.
