Best Online Retailer Amazon, John Lewis, Scan

HIGHLY COMMENDED N/A

-

Three companies came joint top of the charts this year, with Amazon, John Lewis and Scan managing to keep their customers happy despite the huge logistical and supply challenges they have faced.

For Amazon, it’s price, speed of delivery and easy refunding process that keep it front of mind.

“Returning an incomplete item to Amazon was straightforward,” wrote Stephen Chance.

“Returning an item that did not meet its specification to Ebuyer was cumbersome, requiring emails and a phone call before an RMA was issued.”

James Young neatly sums up what helps John

Lewis in its battle for the online pound. “John Lewis customer service is the gold standard, never any quibbles. They are surprisingly competitive on most of their electronics so if they sell it, I tend to buy from them.”

And for Scan, it’s a mixture of great prices, the personal touch and supreme technical knowledge on call. “Ordering process for an RTX 3070 Founders Edition was a bit of a pain,” wrote James Dietz, “but that’s to be expected given the extraordinary demand and supply constraints. Once ordered, shipping was fast and the GPU was packed according to its value (very well indeed).”

This isn’t to say that everyone writing in was delighted with the service they received – no one gets it right 100% of the time – but kudos to all three of our winners for the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

If only we could say the same about the brands at the foot of our table. In particular, we’re keen for Currys and PC World (both part of the Dixons Carphone empire, now merged into one Currys PC World brand) to lift their figures. Thei r prices are often excellent, but watch out if things go awry.
