Time to bid in the big Silent Auction
It’s BIG, it’s BACK and it’s BETTER than ever before.
This year Perth Silent Auction is once again raising money for the Cornhill Macmillan Centre at Perth Royal Infirmary and a host of smaller charities in Perth and beyond.
The Big County’s favourite fundraiser is a joint effort between the Rotary Club of Perth and the Perthshire Advertiser.
It has been running since 2006 and during that time has raised over £250,000 for good causes, both local and worldwide.
This year we have further revamped our website to make it even more user friendly for smart phones and tablets.
Just logon to www. perthsilentauction.co.uk and follow the simple instruction on the home page to register.
And once registered PA readers can check out the fantastic range of lots donated by hundreds of generous local businesses.
Editor of the Perthshire Advertiser, Alison Lowson, said:“Since the Silent Auction started in 2006, we’ve raised over £250,000 for good causes throughout Perth and Kinross and further afield.
“I’m delighted 2016’s event is again supporting Cornhill. It is a very worthy local organisations which relies heavily on local fundraising.
“And it says so much for the popularity of the event that so many local businesses have already donated lots, with hundreds more in the pipeline.
“I would encourage PA readers to log on to www.perthsilentauction. co.uk and check out the full list of lots.”
David Lindsay, Silent Auction co-ordinator, continued:“We are delighted to be back again. We aim to give donors a great platform for their business on the Silent Auction website, whilst at the same time offering buyers the opportunity to buy Christmas gifts, one-off experiences, and many other fantastic items. The fact that all money received will go to deserving local charities makes it even more worthwhile.”
Perth’s Silent Auction has been supporting the work of PRI’s Cornhill Macmillan Centre since it opened its doors in 2009.
The £3.75 million centre - a joint partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support and NHS Tayside delivers comprehensive palliative care for in-patients with cancer and other life-limiting conditions, including symptom control, rehabilitation and end-of-life care as well as offering support to families and carers.
Money from this year’s Silent Auction specifically will fund locum cover for local GPs while they are undergoing specialist palliative care training at Cornhill.
This year’s Silent Auction finishes on Saturday, December 3, 2016. .co. uk
