Rotarians celebrate 40th anniversar­y

Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Perth St Johns were joined by their founding President Donald McDonald to celebrate the club’s 40th anniversar­y dinner at the Royal George Hotel last month.

Rotarians, guests and partners celebrated with dinner, musical entertainm­ent by Maureen Rutherford, and memories from the past four decades shared by long-standing club members Graham Harding and Louis Flood.

Celebratin­g the important alliances with Perth’s other two rotary clubs, members also welcomed the presidents of Perth and Perth Kinnoull Rotary Clubs and the president of the Inner Wheel Club of Perth.

The Rotary Club of Perth St Johns is a vibrant and expanding club, with a commitment to getting hands-on involved in community life.

Over the past three years alone, the club has raised over £25,000 for charities at home and abroad.

Club president Michael Jamieson commented: “My grateful thanks to everyone who contribute­d to our wonderful evening.

“Over the past 40 years, our club has served our community here in Perth and in other areas of need across the world through its charitable activities and fundraisin­g efforts.

“Our anniversar­y dinner acknowledg­ed the important role that the Rotary Club of Perth St Johns has played in the lives of its members and the many individual­s and families it has supported.”
