Wildlife art winners

More than 400 youngsters entered the competition - sponsored by Julian Jardine Art Studio, Blackadders Solicitors and Dunkeld House Hotel - for which the brief was to create a piece of art depicting a game species from the British Isles.
There were 18 prize-winners in all, with the overall prizes in both the junior and senior school groups going to Crieff’s Morrison’s Academy.
The Blackadders Quaich for the overall winning entry in the senior category was awarded to Flori Mitchell of Morrison’s for her dynamic interpretation of a pheasant in full flight.
The Michael Wolfe-Murray Perpetual Trophy for the overall winning entry in the junior category was awarded to both Charlotte Medley for her watercolour painting of a deer and Leah Strickland for her stunning portrait of a hare, both also of the Crieff school.
The certificates to the winners and all the runners up were presented by Bob Band, deputy provost of Perth and Kinross Council.
Sheena Stewart, of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, said:“The competition is now in its 12th year - we had a really impressive entry of more than 400 separate pieces and some wonderful and inspired art created by the youngsters. ”
