Tree-mendous night in Tulloch
The community of Tulloch came together recently to celebrate the lead up to Christmas with the switch on of lights on the Perth neighbourhood’s first-ever community Christmas tree in Tulloch Square.
The event, which drew around 200 locals, was organised by the Tulloch Community Group in partnership with Tulloch’s Bloomin Lade Group, Tulloch Primary School, Tulloch NET and Perth North Church.
Cash support came from a Perth and Kinross Council funding stream.
The large crowd that gathered was entertained by the Tulloch NET Singing Group, the Tulloch Primary School Choir and some musicians from Perth Grammar School.
Hot drinks and mince pies, provided by the local Co-op, were enjoyed, while the lights were switched on by St Johnstone star Murray Davidson.
The highlight for many was the visit of Santa, who made his entrance in a fire engine, courtesy of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Those who came expressed delight on social media afterwards.
One person wrote: “Brilliant night, hope this is the start of things to come.
“It is so nice to see the community coming together and what a turn out. Thanks to all who organised this, looking forward to the next get together.”
