Safety tips for enjoying rest of festive season

Police Scotland local area commander for Perth and Kinross, Chief Inspector Maggie Pettigrew, kickedoff this week’s CrimeBeat by reiteratin­g the nationwide force’s Festive Safety message:

In the early hours of Sunday, December 18, a black ‘Voodoo’ mountain bike with lime green detail was stolen from a garden in Bracken Brae, Perth.

A light up snowman was stolen from a front garden in Dunsinane Drive, Perth, in the early hours of Saturday, December 17.

Damage was caused to a blue Ford Ka parked in Rannoch Road, Perth, between Friday , December 16 and Monday, December 19.

A quantity of money was stolen from a flat in Speygate, Perth, on the morning of Tuesday, December 20.

Between Saturday, December 17, and the following day a shed on Dundee Road, Perth, was broken into and an electric disc cutter, drill and fly fishing equipment were stolen.

A blue Fiat Stilo parked in Cumbrae Place, Perth, has been targeted twice in recent weeks by a vandal intent on damaging the tyres.

A building site container at Westbank House, Jeanfield Road, Perth, has been targeted twice by thieves in recent weeks when attempts to break-in have occurred.

A white Honda SJ50 motorcycle was stolen from Primrose Crescent, Perth, between Monday, December 12, and Tuesday, December 13. It was later found abandoned on a near bay embankment.

A grey Talbot Express campervan parked in Glengarry Road, Perth, had a number of tyres damaged about 7pm on Tuesday, December 13.

A wing mirror was stolen from a red Vauxhall Zafira parked in Tummel Road, Perth, between 8.30pm and 10pm on Wednesday, December 14.

Between Thursday, December 15, and the following day a breakin occurred to a unit at Tulloch Works, Tulloch Road, Perth, and a bronze statue was stolen.

Aerosol paint was sprayed on a shed, wall and bench during vandalism at the Winter Garden,

Two premises in Atholl Road, Pitlochry, were targeted by vandals in mid-December, according to police Crieff Hydro, Hotel, Ferntower Road, Crieff, on Saturday, December 17.

On Sunday, December 18, counterfei­t Clydesdale Bank £20 notes were used at Dobbies Garden Centre, Crieff Road, Perth. Similar notes were also used at a premises on East High Street, Crieff, on December 9.

A window was damaged at a property on Ewanfield, Crieff, on Tuesday, December 20

A large quantity of insulation boards were stolen from a building site on Perth Road, Crieff, between Wednesday, December 7, and Thursday, December 15.

A planter containing an evergreen shrub was stolen from Church Road, Crook of Devon, between Friday, December 9 and Thursday, December 15.

A glass panel in a display unit outside Mackenzie’s Bakery, Atholl Road, Pitlochry, was broken overnight on Friday, December 16.

Metal railings outside Hetty’s Tearoom, Atholl Road, Pitlochry, were damaged between Saturday, December 17, and the following day.

A silver Isuzu D Max parked in a lane behind the cinema, Dunkeld Street, Aberfeldy, had a tyre damaged between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Tuesday, December 20.
