Mr Clyde hits the right keys at concert

Head teacher on the stage

- Melanie Bonn

Head teachers don’t usually steal the show, but Stuart Clyde from the Community School of Auchterarder will headline a fundraising concert tonight – playing rock and pop songs on the keyboard.

CSA’s parent council is organising the fundraising event at the Lang Toon’s Aytoun Hall.

Mr Clyde should be at ease being in the spotlight as he plays in Simple Minded, a tribute act to Scottish band Simple Minds, when he is not busy with his school commitments.

He told the PA: “I’m really pleased to be let loose by our fabulous parent council to entertain the community.

“It’ll be worth all the nerves as the money raised goes straight back into our school.”

When he gets on stage tonight, Mr Clyde is set to really look the part as the school craft department has made his keyboard look like a mini grand piano for the night.

And a mysterious former teacher is also coming back to make an appearance as Community School of Auchterarder head teacher Stuart Clyde compère for the fundraiser.

The venue is being provided for free by the Friends of Aytoun Hall and Blackford-based Highland Spring is providing alcoholfree refreshment.

There will be a raffle with great prizes, including a dinner for two at renowned chef Andrew Fairlie’s restaurant, afternoon tea for two at Gleneagles, a round of golf for four on any course at the famous resort and lunch at the City Apex in Dundee.

Tickets for the BYOB event are £15 and include a two-course Indian buffet, prepared by Bilal.
