Isle of Skye to reopen as The Fair Maid restaurant

- Craig Angus

Perth is to get a new restaurant at the site of the former Isle of Skye Toby Carvery.

Named ‘The Fair Maid’, the venture has been brought to the city by Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery.

The new restaurant is set to open on Saturday, February 18, after a three-week refurbishment and significant investment.

The new name for the restaurant has been inspired by the history of Perthshire and the book The Fair Maid of Perth, written by renowned Scottish wordsmith Sir Walter Scott.

General manager Jamie Dorrington said: “We are extremely pleased to announce the new name for the Isle of Skye, The Fair Maid.

“We believe the new name is a true reflection of the area and its heritage.”

Speaking about the conversion, Mr Dorrington added: “We’re excited about the new changes and are looking forward to welcoming the people of Perthshire to come and see what Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery is all about

“The restaurant is being given a fantastic new look and a menu that will have something for everyone.

“When you eat with us you’ll be able to put on the plate exactly what you want, creating your meal, your choice, your way.

“We’are a real part of the local community and are looking to support local charities, projects and host a variety of events and activities that everyone can enjoy.

“When you next pop in to savour a good meal, or spend quality time with family and friends, be sure to ask us about what’s coming up!”
