Upper Scone‘moans’

Dear Editor

-

After reporting having no gas to ‘Caroline’, who was a very helpful and polite individual at the SGN helpline, an engineer appeared within 15 minutes of my call, which I believe was the first to them. We were all very lucky due to the seriousness of this incident.

It disturbs me to read about all those upper Scone moaners suggesting they should be compensated when all down at the bottom of Scone, having had to endure all the associated noise with machinery and SGN men working tirelessly throughout the day and night, did not complain.

Top marks must go to all at SGN as it must have been a vast task to bring in so many from all over Scotland. I found that every one of them were very polite and friendly Praise for SGN workers with a genuine concern about our safety and comfort. They had to contend with a good few moaners from upper Scone which, I think, has more than its fair share of them.

On February 4, there were still a small amount of residents to be connected down here. Any moans? No.

Meanwhile, I would have liked to have seen more council interaction regarding the old and vulnerable on this serious occasion.

It also warms my heart to know through your report that Mr Simpson, our local councillor, has a woodburner and was also able to cook his morning porridge.

It’s reassuring to know that we have this sort of talent at the council in times of an emergency. Jack McCullie By email
