Church news Joint service in Dunning Church on Sunday is at 11am. All are invited to the Earn Singers concert in Dunning Village Hall on Friday, February 24 at 7 for 7.30pm. Supper is included and bring your own bottle; tickets available from Jane or Kay priced £10. All proceeds go towards Church funds.

Almondbank

St Serf’s Church The service on Sunday of last week was conducted by Mr Michael Archibald and his sermon was ‘He Doesn’t Send in the Tanks’. The scripture readings were read by Audrey McIntyre-Miller, the organist was Alison Hooper and the flowers were kindly gifted by Sheena Pereira in memory of Grace Smith. There will be a meeting of the Congregati­onal Board followed by a Kirk Session meeting on Thursday, February 16 at 7pm. The service this Sunday will be conducted by Mr Archibald at the usual time and everyone is very welcome.

Alyth

Alyth Church Morning worship on Sunday was conducted by Reverend Mike Erskine. Worship begins on Sunday at the usual time of 11am, but the service will be held in Airlie Street Hall while the church is undergoing maintenanc­e. During term time, the Sunday school welcomes children to the front pews of the church. All welcome. A crèche for those under three years is available during Sunday morning service. The prayer group meets on Thursdays in Burnside Court lounge at 10.30am. Choir rehearsal is every Friday at 6.45pm. New members welcome. The church website www.alythparis­hchurch.org. uk is updated weekly. Family History project The project is closed for the winter and re-opens on Easter Sunday.
