Sponsorship helps to build on the success
Local construction firm hooks up with P&K county golf
Perth and Kinross County Golf is building for a stronger future after securing vital sponsorship.
Popular Auchterarderbased firm Stephen Gardiner Construction has stepped in to provide a boost to the gents and senior teams for the next three seasons.
The region has been blessed with a plethora of golfing talent for a number of years with continual success at local, national and world level.
Stephen Gardiner, director of Stephen Gardiner Construction - a keen golfer himself - was delighted to help out in any way he could.
“It was an easy decision for us to make to support the county,” he told the Perthshire Advertiser. “We’ve supported the junior golf at Auchterarder for a good few years. So this is a natural progression.
“We get a lot of work out of golf. It’s a great social game which I personally enjoy but, business wise, it helps us too. So it’s a profile which fits with us.
“And it’s 100 per cent important to keep it local. I’m always open to sponsoring locally.”
President of Perth and Kinross County Golf Charlie Gallagher hopes that foundations have been laid for a long-lasting relationship.
“We are thrilled to secure a three year deal with such a respected company,” he said. “Stephen is very well known to many of us on the executive and has always been a supporter of local golf.
“The sponsorship will see our men’s and senior team promoting their company logos and will also allow us to keep investing in our coaching and practice programme.
“This will continue to allow the county to try and compete at the highest level of Scottish golf.
“Our initial arrangement is for three years and, hopefully, it may move on to become a longer term relationship.” From left, Marc Gardiner, Stephen Gardiner, Charlie Gallagher, president of Perth and Kinross County Golf Union and secretary David Ramsay talk through the deal
