Joint service The service in Dunning Church on Sunday, March 12, will be conducted by the Reverend James Aitchison at 11am. All will be warmly welcomed. The Lent study group begins in the manse on Wednesday, March 15, at 7.30pm and will continue for five weeks. Everyone is welcome and for anyone who requires a lift, cars will be available outside Aberuthven Church each Wednesday at 7pm.

Almondbank

St Serf’s Church The service on Sunday of last week was conducted by Rev Iain Paton and his sermon for the first Sunday of Lent was ‘a season of contradict­ions’. The scripture readings were read by Denis Scott, the organist was Irene McLean and the flowers were kindly gifted by Jenny Norrie. Should you require the pastoral services of a minister during the vacancy, please contact Michael Archibald on 01738 840995. The annual stated meeting will take place after morning worship on Sunday, March 19. There is also a reminder that due to the Almondbank Flood Protection Scheme, the main road into Almondbank will be closed for one day on that date for the installati­on of a temporary road bridge. Michael should be back in the pulpit this Sunday and the service will be at the usual time. Everyone is very welcome.

Church Communion was celebrated twice on Sunday and was followed by an evening service of thanksgivi­ng. All services were conducted by Rev Mike Erskine. On Sunday this week morning worship will begin at 11am in Airlie Street Hall while the church is undergoing maintenanc­e. During term time the Sunday school welcomes children to the front pews of the church each Sunday morning. A creche for under-threes is available during every Sunday morning service. The prayer group meets on Thursdays in Burnside Court lounge at 10.30am. Choir rehearsal is every Friday at 6.45pm. New members welcome.
