-

Six-year- old Leon Edwards adds his thanks to SCAA crew as he hands over the cheque with mum Sara and dad Steven to paramedics Richard Forte (back) and Graeme Hay and pilot John Stupart A Coupar Angus couple whose children were involved in a fatal road accident near their home last year have raised more than £3,000 for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance.

Sara and Steven Edwards lost their two-year-old daughter Harlow in the accident but insisted they wanted to recognise the work of SCAA in tending their other two injured children.

And their six-year-old son Leon, who was airlifted to hospital by SCAA, joined his parents at the charity air ambulance’s base to hand over the cheque.

“We can’t thank SCAA enough for what they did for our children that day,”said Sara.

“We just wanted to give something back to help ensure they’re there for the next family that needs them.”

The Edwards family held a week-long charity shop and a prize bingo in Coupar Angus in aid of SCAA, raising £3,000.

A further £30 was handed in to the shop from a member of the public as a donation and £14.81 was popped in a collecting can at the shop.

Staff at Wellgate Medical Centre in Dundee – where Sara used to work – also boosted the family’s fundraising efforts with a further £445.50.
