Tigers raise the profile and reputation of Modern Apprenticeships
TIGERS, a training provider and employment broker have created an innovative programme of activities for Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2017, to increase the overall awareness and perception of Modern Apprenticeships in Scotland.
TIGERS’ apprentices contacted the Scottish Government requesting the opportunity to interview a Government Minister about their views on Apprenticeships in Scotland.
The apprentices were delighted to be invited to the Scottish parliament to meet with the Minister for Employability and Training, Jamie Hepburn, MSP. The interview focused on the benefits to individuals, businesses and the Scottish Economy and what are the long term views of the Scottish Government on how apprenticeships may evolve to support workforce development and future industry requirements.
The apprentices represented a variety of sectors including Construction, Early Years, Digital and Business Administration.
Pauline Scott, Operations Director, TIGERS, said: “We were delighted the Minister agreed to be interviewed by our current Apprentices on matters that can shape the future of Modern Apprenticeships in Scotland.
“The opportunity afforded the Apprentices direct access to the Minister to gain his views on how we can raise the profile, benefits and reputation of Modern Apprenticeships with young people, businesses and the wider general public.”
