Overturned a car on country road

-

A woman who overturned her car on a country road was more than three times over the drink/drive limit.

Perth Sheriff Court was told that a car had landed on its roof and as police made their way to the scene, shortly after 10.30pm, they were informed a passing motorist had taken the driver and passenger to Pitlochry.

The Good Samaritan detected a“strong smell of alcohol”coming from the female who had been behind the wheel.

Officers later traced Ashleigh Pringle (26), of of Northfield Drive, Edinburgh, to a local hotel and she failed a breath test. She was fined £640 - and banned for 12 months - after she admitted driving with excess alcohol on the B8019 Faskally-Kinloch road on April 18 last year.

She had 67 microgrammes of alcohol on her breath - the maximum allowed is 22.

The part-time dental receptionist had been out with her partner and had been drinking wine with their meal.

“She had swerved to avoid a deer,”explained her lawyer.
