Trialfor latenight transport scheme

- Rachel Clark

A new late-night Saturday bus service between Crieff and St Fillans is to be launched next month.

Stagecoach will run its 15A service from Crieff at 9.50pm from Saturday, April 1. It will call in at Comrie at 10.06pm, and arrive in St Fillans at 10.21pm.

There will also be a return bus service leaving St Fillans at 10.23pm, allowing residents to enjoy a Saturday night out in Strathearn.

The new public transport service will run for a trial period of four months, which will be monitored by Perth and Kinross Council.

St Fillans Community Council, which requested the extended weekend bus times, has urged Strathearn residents to use to service to see it is not lost.

Vice-chair and treasurer Don Forrester said: “You could go out of St Fillans but you couldn’t get back again by bus [before the trial].

“I think the service will definitely benefit the whole community.

“While it is there we hope people will use the bus and enjoy a night out in Crieff and Comrie.”
