Delight at £137,000 grant

Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Alexander Stewart expressed his delight at the news that Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Services has received a £137,514 grant from the Big Lottery Fund.

Mr Stewart said: “I am delighted at this award for Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service. This project – based at The Gateway, North Methven Street, Perth will support integration and capacity building of migrant communities and individuals.

“They will also provide help in accessing local services, tailored support, cultural training, volunteer development opportunities, We’ve teamed up with Pontins to bring you a fabulous offer on Easter family breaks. A Pontins short break has so many daytime activities, children’s character shows, and all-star evening shows included in the price.

There’s a restaurant, takeaway & bars, amusement arcade and even unlimited free use of the heated indoor swimming pool, complete with inflatables and slides! There are indoor & outdoor play areas, go karts, skate parks and trampolines as well as crazy golf and many more fun activities with the world famous Bluecoats.

Choose from Brean Sands in Somerset, Camber Sands in Sussex, Prestatyn in North Wales and Southport. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes and community groups.

“Participants will be principally from Eastern European, South Asian and Chinese origins.”

Big Lottery Fund Scotland is focused on distributing funding to help people and communities in need throughout Scotland.
