Ringing out for Fair City mums

-

The chime of bells from a Carillon Recital at St John’s Kirk is a wondrous tradition of Perth.

Today at 1.30pm Dr Ian Cassells, the Perth City Carilloneur, will be playing the bells - including the largest one, known as John the Baptist - to celebrate Mothering Sunday.

An Dr Cassells’ mastery of the bells can be watched live as he will be televised on the big screens in the Kirk.

The Recital will be informal and it will be possible to come in and out of St John’s throughout the 30 to 40 minutes that Ian will be playing.

If you have never seen a carillon of bells being played, do come to St John’s Kirk this Friday afternoon.
