Vision of SNP is flawed
our health service, both from the point of view of finance and staff recruitment.
We have a failing educational system which has seen us drift steadily down the international results table.
We face her refusal to impose a charge for university tuition which results in our major educational institutions being starved of money and being made totally dependent on students from England and overseas who pay substantial fees, resulting in places at university being denied to our own Scottish students.
But do the SNP concentrate on remedying all of these and other deficiencies and shortcomings? They do not. They are totally obsessed with the pseudo concept of “independence” and completely unconcerned that they are, once again, turning Scot against Scot and dividing the country more or less down the middle, to the very serious detriment of Scotland and its future.
Is all of this a recipe for a tiny country to abandon a union which has greatly profited both
Scotland and England for over 300 years, a Union which sees Scotland allocated a very generous allowance per citizen under the Barnett Formula – a far greater sum than is allocated per citizen south of the border?
Scotland, prior to 1707, was a very poor country (in modern terms, a third world country) and the final nail in its coffin was the collapse of the Darien Scheme which bankrupted the whole of Scotland. The SNP is the greatest threat to Scotland since the collapse of the Darien Scheme.
Do we want to see Scotland become a third world country again? Europe is not really interested in Scotland.
It is a tiny peninsula stuck out in the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, hundreds of miles from the coast of mainland Europe. The SNP need to get real about Scotland’s actual status in the world and turn their attention to making Scotland a country of which we can once again be proud.
