hole in their kitchen floor. The couple were convinced that she wasn’t under the floorboards as she wasn’t answering to their calls, but Sue said she would find her. After wrecking their house by lifting floorboards up, the kitten was finally located under the kitchen floor on her fourth day without food. They saw her on their security camera coming out of the hole at 3am, prancing around the house, before going back down again. Eventually, hunger got the better of her and they managed to catch the little cat. As they didn’t want to risk their other two cats going down the hole, they had been put into a cattery. This ended up being not only stressful, but an expensive week. But all’s well that ends well. Sue also thanked all the people who kindly donated money towards the neutering of the feral cats from Dysart. If you can offer a home to a cat, help at fundraising events, in the shops or at the sanctuary, please call Sue on 01337 840414, or visit their website at www.catchat. org/adoption/fife.html or www. whinnybank.org.uk.

Pitlochry

Football In the Perthshire Cup game between Vale and Strathearn Grove, the Strathearn team came out on top winning 2-1 to Vale. The Vale team included Crowe, Kennedy, Simpson, Berry, Taylar, Houston, Scrimgeour, McLauchlan, Thorne, Walker, Clark, Majchrzak and Smillie. A fairly good half from Vale saw the team with a great chance to go in front. The visitors didn’t show anything to worry the home side as their defence looked quite comfortable. Half-time and a 0-0 score saw nothing of note happening as both teams gave a flat showing. The second half was better for the visitors, as their pace up

started to catch the home side’s defence out. Grove went ahead after a spell of pressing, when the centre gave Crowe no chance with his shot. Graeme Millar drew Vale level five minutes later with a cracking shot from the edge of the box. Vale had another two excellent chances to win the tie, again not taken, and it was the visitors who struck to go into the next round. A very flat game from Vale and they seemed to disappear in the second half. But they will have to up their game in the coming weeks if their league challenge is to continue. As the second half progressed, the players seemed to be trying the most difficult pass, rather than the short ones that were easily available. What was very disappointing was how some players didn’t seem to be able to last the full 90 minutes. Substitutes Walker, Smillie and Clark all came on to see if they could change the course of the game, but for Vale it was beyond that. Man of the match was Graeme Millar. This Saturday will see Vale at home to Moncrieff in a league game with a 2pm start. Flower Club Pitlochry Flower Club will meet in Scotland’s Hotel, Pitlochry on Wednesday, April 19, at 2pm.
