Perth High pupils win the Scottish Schools Curling championship

-

Perth High School kept their cool to be crowned Scottish Schools Curling champions.

The team of Duncan McFadzean, Leeanne McKenzie, Matthew McKenzie and Cameron Patterson defeated a strong Lockerbie four in a closely contested final.

Over 100 teams competed in regional qualifying events at rinks across Scotland to establish the 24 finalists, who went for glory at Braehead.

Teams were arranged in four groups of six, initially competing a round robin to establish ranking for the knockout stages. After plenty of great curling over the weekend, the Fair City squad triumphed.

It’s been a successful year out on the ice for Perth High School, having already clinched the Hay Trophy earlier in the season.
