Zander’s deal secures him until 2020
Saints defender Liam Gordon St Johnstone keeper Zander Clark yesterday penned a new deal which will secure his future with the Perth club until 2020.
The two-year extension to his existing contract comes after a series of impressive performances by the 24-yearold between the sticks for the McDiarmid Park side.
Clark, who has been with the club since 2008, has played all bar seven first team games this season, although he was replaced at half-time in last Saturday’s win at Motherwell due to a hip injury.
Speaking to the club website, he declared: “I’m delighted to get this done.
“The club has been good to me and I’m grateful to have this sort of security and peace of mind.
“This season has far exceeded my expectations.
“I had hoped to try and get into the team and to have managed 30 starts is very pleasing for me but I’m taking nothing for granted.
“With his second half display on Saturday, Alan Mannus reminded everyone - if it were needed – what a great keeper he is and I’ll need to stay focused if I want to retain my place in the team.”
