Success on menu for young chef
A Pitlochry High School pupil has been enjoying success and respect for her cooking efforts.
Charlotte McIntyre won the local heat of Pitlochry Rotary’s Young Chef of the Year competition earlier this year, allowing her to move on to the district finals.
Charlotte practised hard and recently competed with 11 other finalists in the district final held in Dundee and Angus College. She came away with third place.
Second place went to Matthew Turnbull (Dundee) who won last year.
Both Charlotte and Matthew were pipped this year by Maddie Owen (Dundee), who proved to be the best of an exceptionally high standard of contestants and who now goes on to represent the district in the regional final.
As the Pitlochry local winner, Charlotte has since been presented with a very smart chef’s jacket and is seen here with Elaine Charlotte McIntyre is presented with the chef’s jacket by Elaine Liney, headteacher Pitlochry HS (left), John Uytman, president of Pitlochry Rotary Club, and Louis Wilkie, her Home Economics teacher (right)
