Superheroes swoop in for North Inch walk
Dress up and join in with 5K event to boost Perth Autism Support
A fantastic costumed sponsored walk involving Perth’s local superheroes is planned for the North Inch tomorrow.
Kicking off a month of awareness, Perth Autism Support (PAS) holds its family-friendly Superhero Stroll on Saturday, April 1 – which is also World Autism Awareness Day.
The 5K sponsored walk will see participants trek twice around the North Inch, meeting outside Live Active Leisure Bell’s Sport Centre at 11.45am for a noon start.
Fundraiser Ross MacGregor came up with the idea for the event through his love of comics and superhero movies, especially Batman.
He is encouraging as many folk to join in as possible and explained that, while dressing up is optional, there will be a prize for the best superhero costume.
“It is sure to be a great day. I’m very pleased that the people of Perth have shown so much interest in the Superhero Stroll and we have had quite a few Just Giving pages set up by Perth Autism Support fundraising manager Ross MacGregor participants to raise funds for Perth Autism Support.”
Ross added: “Our charity patron and fellow Bat-fan, Andy Gray, will be joining us to kick off the walk and the lovely staff from Tesco on the Crieff Road will be supplying refreshments.
“If anyone would like to join in they should contact me or Kathleen on 01738 451081 or email fundraising@ perthautismsupport.org.uk.
“And we’d love it if walkers would go to www.justgiving.com and set up a fundraising page. Don’t forget to choose Perth Autism Support as your charity.”
