continue their journey and that the story should bring wonder and inspiration to a wide audience.

Innerpeffray Library keeper, Lara Haggerty said: “It is a real thrill for us to have the Butterflies at Innerpeffray.

The library at Innerpeffray is now a museum and holds regular exhibitions.

For 2017 the exhibition themes include The History of the Post in Perthshire and The Innerpeffray Alphabet, which showcases treasures from A – Z taken from its own collection.

Open Wednesday – Saturday and Sunday afternoons, entry costs £7.50. Children free. This Saturday, Perth Farmers’ Market will be celebrating eighteen years in business.

The market, which was the original concept of sheep farmer Jim Fairlie, has grown from its humble beginnings of 13 stalls to the current offering of around 40.

Market manager Adeline Watson said: “The market has basically followed the general trend in food retailing. Customers over the years have become more interested in where their food comes from, how it is produced and the quality and taste of the produce.

“Where else can you have a chat to the person who actually originates the produce?”

Ms Watson added: “The market, which receives no external funding, has had its challenges over the years, but has remained resilient to the peaks and troughs of food sales in general.

“As an outdoor market the weather has also played a significant part in our cash flow.

“A cancelled market can mean quite a large financial loss to us.

“The market is also a showcase for all that is great in Perthshire food production. Having around 40 local producers in attendance it is like having a Perthshire food exhibition at every Saturday market.

“Perth Farmers’ Market has survived in a retailing climate that has seen many such markets struggle over the years. Our eighteenth birthday is an opportunity for us to thank our loyal customers, many of whom have been with us since our inception.”

This Saturday’s market takes place in King Edward Street, Perth from 9am until 2pm.

• If you can’t make it to Perth, Aberfeldy’s debut market day of the 2017 season is this Sunday.

The popular Aberfeldy Farmers’ Market returns to the Square with the expected high standard of local and Scottish food producers offering everything from organic vegetables to artisan bread. Come to sample, browse and buy from 10am to 2pm, April 2.
