Derby day action in Perth

- North Division

Kinnoull’s Rhys Davies Kinnoull v Scone Thistle Kinnoull manager Alan Cameron reckons his side enter this weekend’s Perthshire derby match with Scone as underdogs.

A home win for the Tulloch Park men will lift them above the Jags and into third in the North Division.

Cameron has been impressed with how Scone have gone about their business this season. He is expecting an exciting afternoon of football in Perth.

“Scone have had an excellent season and will undoubtedly be a massive test for our boys this weekend,”Cameron said.

“They are obviously the form team and slight favourites after a tremendous run of results.

“I am confident it will be an excellent game of football as both teams like to get the ball down and play.

“We should have a squad of 16 with hopefully two new additions to the squad in time to play a part in the match.”

Noull will head into Saturday’s game high in confidence after convincingly seeing off Forfar Albion 5-0 in their last fixture.

Prolific forward Rhys Davies netted four of the goals and Cameron said:“Rhys quite rightly took the plaudits with his four goals and some excellent finishing.

“But I am sure he will be the first to give credit to his team mates who help support and create his chances.

“It was pleasing to collect the three points against a spirited Forfar Albion side.

“We played some good stuff in the first half but after the third goal we took our foot off the gas for the second half.”

Kick-off at Tulloch Park is 2.30pm.
