Footie fun for stars of future
There was lots of good technique on show The holiday coaching programme is always a hit Stars of the future battle for possession St Johnstone’s ‘Saints Kidz goal-getters’ Easter holiday football coaching programme got under way at McDiarmid Park this week.
Scores of youngsters enjoyed the first of the twoday courses, which took pace over Monday and Tuesday this week on the Fair City Scottish Premiership club’s well-used artificial pitches. Another session took place over Wednesday and Thursday.
The course is open to girls and boys aged 5 to 16 and costs £5 per day.
Everyone who takes part must register in advance either on the Saints in the Community website or by completing a registration form and handing it to a coach.
Everyone who registers for Saints Kidz before the end of May will have the chance of winning a ball signed by the Saints squad.
Fans of various teams enjoyed showcasing their skills
Future dates for the course are:
Aberfeldy Home Street Pitch - Monday, April 10, and Tuesday, April 11, from 1.30-3pm each day;
Blairgowrie Community Campus - Wednesday, April 12, and Thursday, April 13, from 10.30am-noon each day;
Pitlochry Recreation Ground - Monday, April 10, and Tuesday, April 11, from 10.30am-noon each day.
Meanwhile, A Saints Kidz’ Soccer Holiday Week will take place at McDiarmid Park from April 10 to 14, running from 1-4pm each day.
It includes technique, awareness and agility practices, as well as competitions and smallsided games.
The course costs £75 and everyone will receive a ticket for a Saints game as well as a full training kit.
