Hot form in front of goal Cameron wants more clinical edge

-

Perthshire derby: Luncarty v Kinnoull first half.

“We had our goalkeeper Gordon Chalmers to thank for a couple of excellent saves.

“The second half I felt we created more than enough chances to win the game comfortably. But our achilles heel of not being clinical enough, once again, came back to haunt us.

“It wasn’t a typical Perthshire derby as both teams got the ball down and played some good football which I am sure the crowd enjoyed.

“Luncarty will be yet another difficult game for us as they already proved when we drew at Tulloch Park earlier in the season.

“We will hopefully have a few more bodies available for this weekend with a couple to return from knocks that missed out last week.”

Luncarty boss Jon Kelly will be wanting his squad, unbeaten in six, to get out of the blocks quicker this weekend.

They trailed Blairgowrie early on before recovering to secure a 2-1 victory in their last outing.

“I thought we were very poor first half against Blairgowrie,” Kelly said. “But the players rolled their sleeves up at half time and put in a real gutsy performance in the second half.

“It certainly was not our best performance of the season but I still think we were worth our three points. The two goals Richard Doig scored were worthy of winning any game.”

Kick-off at Brownlands Park is 2.30pm.
