Xander wants a local voice in PKC elections

-

Xander McDade Delicatessen manager Xander McDade has announced he is to stand in May’s council elections.

Mr McDade previously stood, aged just 18, in the elections in 2012 for Highland ward, and hopes to go one better in the same part of the Big County, having been eliminated in the final round of counting last time.

Mr McDade (23), said:“I got involved in politics from an early age, helping campaign against the demolition of first our local curling rink and then the Bank House in the middle of Pitlochry by the same developer.

“Watching the dreadful planning process where there was no requirement for local people to be consulted about a development which would have a major impact on them, made me passionate about local democracy and ensuring the local people’s voices are heard.”

He added:“People want someone local who will stand up for the best interests of their area and put those interests ahead of party politics and I think that is the important role Independent councillors can play. I love the area I live in and that’s why I want to stand up and represent the people of Highland Perthshire.”

Voters wishing to contact Xander to discuss issues, or who want to support his campaign may call him on 07956252909, email on votexander@gmail. com or go to his website – votexander.co.uk.
