Time4Me funding pot offers support
Cash aimed at carers
Perthshire North MSP John Swinney is encouraging local carers to consider applying for a share of Time4Me funding being offered by Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS).
The funding pot, which is designed to provide carers with respite in order to help them sustain their caring role, is available until September.
There is still £7,000 available and applications can be made for either up to £250 for a “big break” or £50 for a “wee treat”.
With previous applications having been made for football tickets, driving lessons and DIY products, Mr Swinney is encouraging carers to make an early application for a share of the funding.
“Carers sacrifice a lot to make sure that those nearest to them are looked after,” he said.
“It is important that these people are afforded some respite and I am very pleased that PKAVS still have some funding available for this purpose.”
The Time4Me funding is available until September, or until all of the funding has been allocated, whichever is soonest.
To be eligible for funding, carers must not have received funding from Time4Me in the past 12 months, look after somebody aged 21 or above and not have already taken the respite break.
Applications can be made via PKAVS’ website, where additional information for applicants is also available at www.pkavscarershub.org. uk/Time-4-Me MSPJohn Swinney was among attendees at the 2016 Carer’s Conference
