Scholarships are on offer at Perth UHI
The University of the Highlands and Islands is offering 26 PhD scholarships across its campuses, including Perth College UHI.
The scholarships on offer start in 2017, and will cover tuition fees and living expenses for international students.
The scholarships are funded by EU Funding for Scotland, and aim to drive Scotland’s innovation in an effort to close the skills gap.
Funded subjects for propsective PhD students include digital technologies in healthcare, the history of distilling and whisky production, eco-tourism, salmon farming, and the impact of the nuclear industry on British communities.
Principal Professor Clive Mulholland, said:“We are investing in our research capacity and are delighted to be able to offer these new studentships. The students will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge alongside world-class researchers and be part of the next chapter of our story.”
The scholarships will be funded by the European Social Fund and Scottish Funding Council as part of Developing Scotland’s Workforce Scotland 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Fund Programme. The funded subjects can be studied across the UHI locations, including in Perth.
The Deadline to apply for the scholarships is May 8.
