Pitlochry Co-op give deserving causes a boost
Scouts being presented with their cheque Two good causes in Pitlochry have been benefiting from their local Co-op store.
Since September members having been earning 1% on all Co-op branded products and those the 1st Perthshire (Pitlochry) Scout Group and Pitlochry Senior Citizens Good Neighbour Association were picked to receive the extra pennies. It all added up to a total of just over £10,000. The Scouts were delighted to be given £5016 and the senior citizens got £5250, presented by store manager Barry Jardine.
This week the Co-op as a whole celebrated giving out £9million to 4000 local causes throughout the UK.
Three new local causes have been chosen by the Pitlochry store to start earning from today.
