Carse Associatio­n for Continuing Education (CACE) The CACE summer term starts on Monday, April 24. The programme of classes and activities includes minibus trip on June 25 to the Jacobite Exhibition, National Museum of Scotland, and to Abbot House or Dunfermlin­e Abbey, painting, Tai Chi, French, Spanish, yoga, Scottish Country Dancing, choir (informal singing), Pilates, jewellery making, Exploring the Carse, stained glass workshop, and walking. The over-50s ballet class and Pilates continue to be very popular. New this term:- six golf lessons at Middlebank Golf Centre and Chi-Kung class in Invergowri­e. The applicatio­n form and class details are available on CACE website www. cace.org.uk/ and in CACE summer brochure which is available from shops and post offices in the Carse of Gowrie. The CACE Annual General Meeting will be held in Inchture Village Hall on Friday, May 19, at 7.30 pm. All welcome. Common Weal Perth and Kinross On April 12 the group enjoyed a fascinatin­g talk by blogger and lecturer in law Andrew Tickell on the topic “Scotland’s Constituti­onal Future the Legal Angle”. Thanks to Andrew for an entertaini­ng and informativ­e evening, to the staff of Blend for their hospitalit­y and to everybody who came along and took part so enthusiast­ically. Common Weal Perth and Kinross next meets at 7pm on Wednesday, April 26 at Blend Coffee Lounge, 274 High Street, Perth, for “coffee, cake and conversati­on” on various aspects of current affairs and politics. All are welcome to come along and take part. Dundee RSPB The Dundee RSPB, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Local Group covers the area of Dundee, Fife, Angus and Perth/Kinross. The next outdoor meeting is on Sunday, April 23, outing to the Loch of the Lowes and Killiecran­kie. Hopefully we will see the newly returned ospreys and some summer migrants such as wood warbler, redstart, tree pipit and pied flycatcher. Killiecran­kie is now a good place to find nuthatch. Telephone: 01382 532461 E-mail: grahamnjen@hotmail.com Dunkeld Handbell Ringers The 15th summer season of weekly handbell performanc­es by Heather McLean in Dunkeld Cathedral on Wednesday afternoons from 2-4pm began on April 19 and continues until the end of September. These normally take the form of solo ringing (most unusual, fascinatin­g to watch and lovely to hear) but once a month there will be small ensemble ringing instead by members of The Parish of Dunkeld Handbell Group. Do come and enjoy the music for a while. There is no charge but donations are welcome. National Health Service Retirement Fellowship The AGM for 2017 will be held in the Civil Service Club, 11 St Leonards Bank, Perth on Monday, April 24, at 2pm.
