Champions night at Perth Squash Club

Perth Squash Club can boast a rich tradition of producing talented players.

And two of the Fair City’s top stars locked horns at Bells Sports Centre to decide who would be crowned club champion.

One of the club’s longest serving members, Bob Malloch, was up against rising star of the Scottish ladies circuit Katriona Allen.

It proved to be an enthrallin­g tussle with Allen clinching a tight first set 9-7. But Malloch soon levelled the contest by claiming the second 10-8.

The youngster was undaunted, however, and would move on to clinch the next two sets 9-4 and 9-7 to lift the trophy.
