“I feel we’ve been unlucky not to take more from our two league games against them this season so Saturday gives us the opportunity to make amends.
“I’m a big believer that cup runs are a boost rather than a hindrance.
“We’re in football to win trophies so any opportunity to do so should be taken seriously.
“Yes it brings added fixtures and potential congestion, but that is a sign of a successful club.”
The Riverside boss confirmed that there will likely be changes to the Perth starting line-up on Saturday.
“We’ve suffered a few injuries over the last few weeks so it gives us the opportunity to freshen up the squad and get players match fit,” he added.
“We will change a few things but the philosophy will be, as it already is, to go out and win the game.”
Penicuik manager Johnny Harvey, who watched his squad draw 1-1 with Camelon last week, said of the game: “We’ll go into the cup tie and try to get into the next round.
“If we put the same effort and desire into the game as we did against Camelon then I’m sure
Gunnion (right) wants to add to the club’s East Premier trophy picked up last year we’ll be alright.”
Kick-off at Penicuik Park is 2.30pm.
