Let’s match last season
Logan McConachie Coupar Angus v Lochore Welfare Coupar Angus manager Logan McConachie is aiming to match last year’s North Division finishing position of ninth place.
The 25-year-old, in his first term in charge, has currently guided the east Perthshire men to 10th.
Relegation has already been avoided.
But McConachie knows that this weekend’s home game against struggling LochoreWelfare provides a glorious opportunity to push towards his target.
“Lochore got a good result at the weekend but we are firmly focusing on getting another positive home result and finishing mid-table,” McConachie told the Perthshire Advertiser.
“We can’t get relegated from the division.
“The aim for this season was sustainability and building a squad that will be more competitive for next season.
“The chairman never gave specific results based objectives, but as a coaching team we decided we would aim to match what the club achieved last year and we are still on track to achieve this.”
McConachie confirmed that talks with players are already underway in a bid to build for next season.
“We have already sat down with three experienced senior players from other clubs and will be finalising those agreements by the end of the month,”he said.
Kick-off for this weekend’s match at Foxhall Park is 2.30pm.
