Roll out the barrels with comedy fun in support of beer fest

- Johnathon Menzies

Locally-based Inveralmond Brewery has pledged its support to tonight’s comedy night, which forms part of the wider Perth Beer Festival.

The beer brand – a long-time supporter of Perthshire Rugby’s activities – will be introducing its new-look brews at the event following a relaunch of popular core tipples Ossian and Lia Fail.

It will also unveil the new Edinburgh Pale Ale.

The seasonal Inveralmond Beltain, described by a spokesperson for the firm as a“full-flavoured refreshing hefeweizen [type of wheat beer] enlivened with sliced limes and mint leaves”, will also be available.

Inveralmond Brewery is now part of the Innis & Gunn stable, and a selection of the Edinburgh-based firm’s wares will also be up for grabs – including Innis & None, for non-alcohol drinkers.

Inveralmond founder and chief executive, Fergus Clark, said:“We’ve been brewing beer in the heart of Perthshire for 20 years now and are delighted to lend our support to Perth Comedy Night as part of the Perth Beer Festival, which celebrates local beer like Inveralmond as well as craft beer from across the country.”

“It all kicks off with Perth Comedy Night on Friday and we urge people to get their tickets quickly as numbers are limited.

“As for the rest of the weekend, we have just one message: to eat, drink and have a barrel of laughs – and maybe‘try’some rugby while you’re at it.”
