Could pal Ewan be in crowd to see Ross?

A rare opportunity to hear music by Blue Rose Code is set to draw people to Methven Castle on May 12.

And organisers are hoping Perthshire-raised Hollywood star Ewan McGregor will be among the 100-strong audience for the talented musician.

An evening with Ross Wilson, aka Blue Rose Code, will raise much-needed funds for Nepal Earthquake charity, the Little Sherpa Foundation.

Founded by James Lamb, the Nepal-based charity is working to transform the lives of poor and vulnerable children who have lost their parents in climbing accidents in the Himalayas.

Many of these families have received little or no external or international help following the Nepal earthquake disaster when their homes were destroyed and some now have no alternative but to live in tents.

Ross has agreed to play the benefit night and Crieff acting hero Ewan McGregor is reportedly a big fan and hoping to drop in.

James, who plucked up the courage to ask Ross if he would play for his cause, was delighted when the musician agreed to let him use the hit song ‘Grateful’ to promote his Nepalese efforts. “This is such a coup for us, this wonderful song is so fitting,” he said.

Guests will have the option to start the evening with a Nepalese meal at the Everest Inn, South Methven Street, Perth.

Tables for a special menu, priced at £15 per person, can be booked from 5pm onwards via 01738 62256.

Then the main event is at 7.30pm. There is no bar so visitors are invited to BYOB. Seats are limited and tickets will not be available on the night.

To reserve your place, for a minimum £20 per person charitable donation to The Little Sherpa Foundation, please call Methven Castle on 01738 840016.
