Glenalmond College’s Campbell Gibson was this week crowned winner of the Perth and Kinross Schools’Golf Championships.

The Blairgowrie Golf Club member carded a round of 76 at the Pitlochry Golf Club to finish four shots ahead of Strathallan School’s Pablo Messa.

Conditions were good, but a strong easterly wind made scoring difficult on the higher and more exposed areas of the course.

Christina Wietrzyk, a boarder at Strathallan School from Austria, handled the weather well to take home the girls’ title with a score of 85.

Strathallan’s successful day continued when they were presented with the overall team trophy, while Breadalbane Academy pupil Ben Cowan clinched the handicap title by carding an impressive net 61.

The schools’ association committee would like to thank Pitlochry Golf Club for hosting the event and to the staff of the Cargill’s restaurant, who provided catering for the event.
