While designs are with local architects who are drawing up new plans for the refurbishment of St Kessog’s Square in Comrie, local teenagers from the parish church youth club gave up their time recently to tidy up the garden so it can be enjoyed by everyone throughout the spring and summer. Pictured are Maya, Logan, Josh, Liam, Shane, Callum and Caitlin with youth leader Danyell Bowater (kneeling). A feature film which shows a harrowing gun massacre on a beach has angered families who lost loved ones at the real-life killing spree in Tunisia.

In 2015 30 British holidaymakers were killed by a gunman at the Sousse beach resort in North Africa.

Among them were Billy and Lisa Graham from Bankfoot.

Now a Hollywood blockbuster called American Assassin has triggered an outcry from bereaved families who object to a ‘flashback’ beach massacre sequence being included, seemingly for shock value.

The film, is based on the 2010 novel by author Vince Flynn, but the book’s plot did not feature the killing on a beach that critics say is very reminiscent of real events at Sousse.

Solicitors acting on behalf of the relatives of the Grahams and 21 other victims are involved in legal action against tour operator TUI.

The Grahams had been out in Tunisia celebrating their wedding anniversary when they were murdered at the Riu Imperial Marhaba Hotel. Billy Graham worked on the St Johnstone FC turnstile.

In American Assassin’s trailer, gunmen open fire on sunbathing tourists on a beach.
